maybe 1st stage of labor?

well, last night about 4pm started getting heavy breathing and panting
by 10pm everything went back to the way she's been

reminds me of Hilde's last litter

I ran her (Hilde) to the emergency vets after she was panting sporatically for about a day

they checked her out and said, "she's just going into labor really slow, she looks fine"

two days later I woke up at 5am to a puppy crying on the bathroom floor with Momma Hilde running through the house looking to go outside to potty, I think she thought she had pooped in the house

so here we are with Grace

She's usually wham bam thank you mame' ... not this time, she's heavy breathing, her temp drops to 98 degrees and then pops right back up.  This morning has held at 98 degrees since 4:30a.m.

Taking her to the vet's at noon
will give ya the vet's update after we get home

I suspect he will say everything is fine ... just late, best practice is to go to the vets when things seem a little funny.  Her last litter she was late and everything went well.  We ended up with an x-ray, so maybe we will know for sure how many, maybe we will have to wait until the birth.
Time to have the vet check it out

here's what's been happening so far:

Temp has held at 98 degrees for more than two readings

heavy breathing, sporatic panting
big huge sigh that she's uncomfortable

eyes dilated at times

stretches on her side to give more room with a moan here and there

threatens to vomit when she eats, clearly does not feel well after she eats

lays in her whelp box to get away to a darker quiet area

mucus discharge like a leaking sometimes

vulva is so swollen looks like somebody will fall out while she walks

her tummy dramatically dips in at the rib cage with a puppy sling under that
